SPECIAL TO THE STAR
Emery Homes' Portnall Rise in Bradford is impressing homebuyers with its sophisticated manor designs and large estate lots, which range from one to three acres (.4 to 1.2 hectares).
"There are 63 homes and they are stepped-up on top of a hill. So there are spectacular views and everyone can enjoy the scenery no matter which lot you choose," says Avril Lister, vice-president of sales and marketing.
The homes have panoramic vistas of lush green meadows and wooded valleys overlooking the Holland Marsh and the Oak Ridges Moraine. There are five bungalow and five two-storey designs. All have three-car garages.
"The bungalows range from 2,366 to 3,277 square feet. The two-storey homes are 3,373 to 4,604 square feet. About 44 of the homes have walkout basements. Prices start at about $1.1 million," says Lister.
A special bonus package includes a SubZero fridge, Wolf gas range and Asko dishwasher. All are stainless steel. Decks with maintenance-free composite decking material are also included. The exteriors of the homes are enhanced with artistic accents, pitched roofs and gables, graceful loggias and palatial features and finishes.
Interiors are spacious. Main floors have 10-foot ceilings and hardwood flooring, while second floors have nine-foot ceilings. Kitchens are built by Paris Kitchens and include granite counters, Kohler sinks, Moen faucets and extended height upper cupboards.
"Our decorated model home is the largest design at 4,600 square feet and people are coming from all over Woodbridge, Maple, Aurora and Newmarket just to see it. We are entering the kitchen in an international awards event because it's so stunning," says Lister.
Portnall Rise is a few minutes from the centre of Bradford and near all the amenities of Newmarket. Commuting is easy, with quick and convenient access to the Bradford GO station, Highway 400 and Highway 88.
"Many of our buyers are people who are living in subdivisions and want to get away from that high density. They want land and space around them, but still have access to Toronto or cottage country. We had about 140 visitors in the first three weeks of opening. We even had a few couples from the Beach area in Toronto, which was a surprise," she says. "This is a family community but with designs that include bungalows, we are also seeing some empty-nesters."
Families can enjoy the Bradford Community Centre or the Bob Fallis Sports Centre. Vaughan Mills, one of Canada's largest shopping malls, is also close by, at Highway 400 and Rutherford Rd.
The sales office is at 55 Nottingham Forest Dr. in Bradford. From Highway 400, exit County Road 88. Go east to 10th Side Road. Turn right and pass 5th Line to the site.
Hours are Monday to Wednesday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday by appointment; Friday closed; weekends 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For up-to-date information, visit ww.emeryhomes.net or call 905-775-8500 or 888-559-4877.
