The fridge that we now have in our basement and use as our beer fridge is a 1936 Coldspot in mint condition. It was originally bought by my wife's Aunt Ina, who used it until she thought it was broken. She then put it in her basement's workroom and stored dry goods in it.

Aunt Ina passed away six years ago. We were asked if there was anything in the house that we wanted. I had always admired the Cold Spot fridge and asked if we could have that.

To our surprise, we found the original owner's manual, keys to the door lock and a recipe book in the freezer section.

The inoperable fridge stood behind our downstairs bar for two years, being admired by many who visited our house. One day, we had a local repair man in to fix our dryer. I asked him to take a look at the Cold Spot, to see if he could breathe life into the old fridge. To our surprise, he was able to fix it and we have been able to enjoy the coldest beer ever.
