Sign is unusual piece of Canadiana

Q: I found this old metal sign advertising Cromptons Coraline Corsets in my grandmother's attic. The metal part measures 60 centimetres by 43 centimetres (23.5 by 17 inches) and it's marked Toronto Lithograph Co. My grandmother, who died around 1940, loved to paint and she used the back of the sign as one of her canvases. She also touched up the 'E' in Coraline. Years ago I came across an old Farmer's Almanac from 1884 picturing the identical ad. The large scratch happened during a recent move. Should we have it repaired?
