Despite a historic bias against the east end, the Queen and Broadview area is emerging as one of Toronto's most appealing neighbourhoods. And so far, remarkably, it has managed to defy the forces of gentrification. Even though the recent retail arrivals may have been startling at first in their incongruousness, now they feel perfectly at home.
