Small space? Dare to pare

When we bought our sweet little handyman special 13 years ago in the Beach area, one tiny main floor room defied definition. It was supposed to be a breakfast nook, but a fair-sized dining room eliminated that need; and it was too far from the pint-size living room or the strangely narrow kitchen to benefit either room by incorporation.
