Everything old is new again

Compared to this console, your great-great-great grandmother's antique dining set is a newborn.

That's because this "River's Edge" table, crafted by John Koletic of Cambellville's Koletic Designs (www.koleticdesigns.com), is made using Ancient Kauri wood.

The wood is salvaged from the bogs of New Zealand, and has been carbon dated by scientists in Woods Hole, Massachusetts and the University of Irvine in California to be more than 50,000 years old.

The console, which retails for $2,900, has more going for it than age: a modern design with glass inset and the cognac hued wood make it a great statement piece. It's eco-friendly – the wood is eligible for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

This table, along with many other incredible goods, will be on display at the One of A Kind Show which runs Nov. 26 through Dec. 6 (www.oneofakindshow.com).
