SPECIAL TO THE STAR
Many of the lots in Cherry Ridge Estates in Fenwick, 20 minutes east of Hamilton, are pie-shaped and don't have a premium price attached. That's according to Linda Upham, sales representative for the site who adds, "There are also several that would give homes walkout basements. Some lots also back onto protected tree lines."
Mountainview Custom Homes has released 30 estate lots on widths from about 50- to 70-feet wide. Your home can be built from one of their home designs, or you can provide your own plans.
Cherry Ridge Estates is surrounded by family-run farms lined with rows of blossoming cherry and fruit trees. It's set along the Niagara Escarpment Ridge and near the prestigious Peninsula Lakes Golf Club and Lookout Point Country Club. The community is a few minutes from quaint Fonthill and its local amenities and a 15-minute commute from the QEW.
"Fonthill is a beautiful little village with a charming main street. You have all your basic amenities there such as grocery and drug stores," says Upham. "But you are also close to great wineries and their fine restaurants, as well as great golf. It's quiet, country living."
Homebuyers can choose from a variety of Mountainview's custom home designs and make custom modifications to the interior plan and features. Or they can bring thier own plan and Mountainview will build it for them.
"Prices for our 1,422-square-foot bungalow plan start at about $380,000 and go up to about $498,000 for a 3,200-square-foot two-storey home," says Upham.
"All the homes are stone and stucco and have an interlock driveway and landscaping package."
Homes can be built within about seven months and up to a year after the contract is signed. "We can negotiate the deposit and down payment schedule to give buyers time to sell their existing home, if they need it. We're very flexible," says Upham.
There is a 2,800-square-foot bungalow loft model home on site. "It features a mix of standard and upgraded finishes," says Upham. The home gives visitors a good indication of the quality of workmanship and level of finishes available with plans.
"The decor has a magnificent formality that is similar to what you would expect in established communities like Toronto's Forest Hill and the Bridle Path areas," says icole Kennedy, Mountainview's interior designer.
The model home and sales centre is at 57 Cherry Ridge Blvd. at Steele Dr. in Fenwick. From Toronto, take the QEW west to Highway 24/Victoria Ave., Vineland exit. Continue south to Highway 20 for about 15 minutes. Turn left on Highway 20. Proceed on Highway 20 to Balfour St. and then turn right. Turn right on Steele Dr.
